PITTSBURGH — Jack of all trades Ben Zobrist has performed remarkably well when batting leadoff this season, something that he does not frequently do.
In the Cubs' Tuesday night clash with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Zobrist hit leadoff and made a major impact midway through the contest. Putting the Cubs on the scoreboard in the top of the fifth, Zobrist clubbed a two-run home run in the fifth inning to score Jon Lester and make the score 3-2 in favor of the Pirates. Driving a slider from Pirates starter Nick Kingham 374 feet over the wall in right, Zobrist picked up his third home run of the year and increased his RBI total to 15.
