Weather update for Friday's Cub-Nationals game

by - Senior Editor -

Tonight's game between the Cubs and Nationals has been delayed due to rain and thunderstorms in the area.

Both teams only have one off-day the same (9/13) for the rest of the season so they will probably try to fit this game in tonight regardless of the time. It might end up being a long night.

CubsHQ.com will keep you updated when we hear of tonight's new start time and when the tarp is off the field.

Saturday update: Saturday's doubleheader begins at 2:05 p.m. CT and the second game will start 45 minutes after the first game.

Update: 9:18 pm CT - -The game is still under a delay. Nationals posted the following message -- Inclement weather is still over the ballpark. Because the Cubs do not return to Nats Park this season, we are awaiting a decision from MLB regarding the resumption of this game. Thank you Nats fans for your patience.

Update: 6:53 pm CT -- The tarp is coming off the field and the new start time is 7:25 pm CT.
