Cubs News: Willson Contreras: "I have my ring...they can boo me" |
The Cleveland Indian fans have not forgotten the 2016 World Series as they booed Cubs teammates
Willson Contreras,
Javier Baez, and
Kris Bryant at the 2019 All-Star game on Tuesday night.
Contreras was interviewed during the post-game and talked about several topics, including the booing at him and his teammates. "I don't know why they hate us," he told NBC Sports Chicago's Kelly Crull. "We won the World Series; I didn't expect something like that being loud against us. I have my ring...they can boo me." Contreras went on to say that he will try to get some rest the next few days and ready for a great second half of the season. For the season, Contreras is batting .286 with 18 homers and 52 RBIs. After the All-Star Game @Kelly_Crull got a 1-on-1 interview with Willson Contreras. They talked about the game, getting booed and more. pic.twitter.com/uPW1SihxZk
