Cubs nearing decision with another David Ross interview

by - Senior Editor -

Theo Epstein and Co. are still working on finding the next manager of the Chicago Cubs.

According to NBC Sports Chicago reporter Kelly Crull, David Ross got his second interview recently with the Cubs.

"Not as formally announced as Espada, but David Ross is said to have also had a second interview with the Cubs," she posted. "Given his position with the team, I'm told they expanded conversations earlier this week."

Astros bench coach Joe Espada got a second interview this weekend so most people thought he was the front-runner for the gig.

However, things might be looking Grandpa Rossy's way as ESPN's Jesse Rogers dropped this bombshell on ESPN Radio on Tuesday.

“Do not be surprised if David Ross is announced as early as Thursday," he said.

It appears that there might be some major news for either Ross or Espada in a few days.

Stay tuned as I think that the Cubs have two great candidates and either should do well on the North Side.
