Cubs promote #3 overall prospect to Double-A |

Cubs second baseman prospect Ian Happ has been promoted from the Myrtle Beach Pelicans to the Double-A Tennesee Smokies on Thursday.
Happ is batting .296 with 16 doubles, three triples, seven homers, 42 RBIs, 48 walks, 10 stolen bases, .410 on-base percentage, and a .885 OPS in 69 games this season. The 21-year old switch-hitter is formerly the #9 overall pick of the Cubs in the 2015 MLB Draft out of Cincinnati and signed with Chicago for $3 million. MLB.com has Happ as the #67 overall prospect in their rankings.
