Cubs to host Dodgers in NLCS Game 1 at Wrigley Field |
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Washington Nationals 4-3 on Thursday day night to finalize the National League Championship series between the Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Dodgers turned to ace Clayton Kershaw to get a two-out save in the ninth inning for his first save since the Gulf Coast League in 2009. "They're a solid team from what I understand," Kershaw said to reporters after the game. Game 1 is on Saturday night at 7:08 CT at Wrigley Field on Fox Sports One. The Cubs will start Jon Lester and the Dodgers have not announced their game one starter yet. The series might actually swing in favor of the Cubs with Jake Arrieta who has been incredible in California in his last seven starts, with a 0.53 ERA, in 51.0 innings pitched giving up only 21 hits, 10 walks, 49 strikeouts, and 0.60 WHIP. Cubs star first baseman Anthony Rizzo will have to get going who is only 1-for-15 this October and just 7-for-47 in his postseason career. The four teams left playing baseball are the Cubs, Dodgers, Indians, and Blue Jays.
