Cubs News: Kris Bryant crushes a homer in the All-Star game

by - Senior Editor -

Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant crushed a homer to the left field stands in his first pitch during his at-bat during the 2016 All-Star game.

The blast was from a 96 MPH heater from the White Sox ace Chis Sale and it was the second hardest hit ball off of Sale this year at 110.8 MPH. It was the first home run for a Cubs player since Alfonso Soriano in 2007.

Bryant is the youngest Cubs player to hit a homer in an All-Star game since Augie Galan in 1936 according to ESPN Stats.

The Nationals are currently up 1-0 as we head to the bottom of the first inning.
