Cubs News: Maddon updates the playing status of Kyle Schwarber |
Cubs manager Joe Maddon talked to the media during press interviews on Monday and said that Cubs catcher Kyle Schwarber is "doing everything well and right" [including slide drills] in his rehab and in the Arizona Fall League.
Maddon said that they would watch him take his at-bats today during live action and "make an evaluation after that" on Schwarber potentially being able to play in the World Series. He also added that the reports have been good on his rehab and Schwarber would give him "another option" at DH. In 2015, Schwarber hit .246 with 16 home runs, 43 RBIs with an excellent .842 OPS in only 69 games (273 at-bats) in his rookie season. In nine career postseason games, he hit .333 with five homers in only nine games. #Cubs Kyle Schwarber... place for him at media day!
