Rizzo reacts to passing of Jose Fernandez

Marlins standout pitcher Jose Fernandez has passed away in a boating accident. Authorities found a 30-foot boat overturned that had crashed into rocks off Miami Beach around 3 am EST, and three people were found dead according to multiple reports.

Cubs star first baseman Anthony Rizzo tweeted his sadness over news of Fernandez's passing on Sunday morning.

"Shocked and saddened by the loss of Jose Fernandez," Rizzo tweeted. "An incredible player but even better human being. My condolences to his family and teammates."

Fernandez was only 24-years old and prayers out to his family and everyone in the Marlins organization.

Today's game against the Atlanta Braves has been canceled.
