Cubs News: Rizzo's Cook-off for Cancer raises $630,000 |
CHICAGO -- The Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation's fourth annual "Cook-Off for Cancer" was held after the Cubs 7-2 win over the Dodgers on Thursday evening and raised over $630,000 for cancer research and to provide financial help for families with the terrible disease.
Cubs players including John Lackey, Jon Lester, and Kyle Schwarber were bartenders during the event, and other players including Addison Russell, David Ross, Ben Zobrist, Dexter Fowler and Kris Bryant mingled with the guests. Rizzo's mother even helped out with her recipe of a "Rizzo Bomb" which is a meatball sandwich on Italian bread.
