Fan favorite Kyle Schwarber spoke to the media on Tuesday afternoon previewing the 2016 World Series featuring the Cubs and Indians.

Once I hit that line, a lot of emotions will come pouring out," Schwarber said. "I'll probably cry at some point today. It was a long road. But once we step in between those lines and it’s game time, I’ll really be locked in. I’ll be ready to go, and go out there and try to win this."

One of Schwarber's best teammates throughout his rehab has been reliever Pedro Strop who told him that he would make it back this season.

Schwarber said after he got the medical clearance from the doctor on Monday, he called President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein about the opportunity to play in the World Series. Epstein gave him no promises or guarantees but liked what he saw from Schwarber at the Arizona Fall League. Schwarber went 1-for-3 with a double, walk, and a run scored on Monday afternoon.

"It would have killed me not to try," Schwarber about trying to get back to play in the World Series.

In 2015, Schwarber hit .246 with 16 home runs, 43 RBIs with an excellent .842 OPS in only 69 games (273 at-bats) in his rookie season. In nine career postseason games, he hit .333 with five homers in only nine games.
