Cubs News: Schwarber: "My plan’s to still keep catching"

by - Senior Editor -

Cubs young slugger Kyle Schwarber was interviewed on ESPN on Monday morning and he is still ecstatic about bringing home the World Series title for the city of Chicago last week.

“We’re just happy that we could do it for them & now they get to celebrate with us. Let’s make Chicago a big party," Schwarber said.

The reporter asked him about playing in the outfield and his rehab that is still ongoing in the offseason.

"That’s the next part of the rehab...after I stop soaking in the #WorldSeries celebration," Schwarber said.

However, the young star does not want to be counted out playing catcher for the Cubs in the future.

“My plan’s to still keep catching. I feel like I can still bring something back there," Schwarber said.

In 2015, Schwarber hit .246 with 16 home runs, 43 RBIs with an excellent .842 OPS in only 69 games (273 at-bats) in his rookie season.
