Media reports had announced all day that the Chicago Cubs fans were buying up as many tickets they could find as they try to see a possible World Series title at Cleveland after over 100 years.
Stub Hub confirmed the report that the Cubs are taking over Progressive Field. “Game 7 is the ultimate bucket list experience for Cubs fans,” spokesman Cameron Papp said in a statement. “We are seeing an unprecedented amount of purchases from the greater Chicago market. As much as 60% of transactions for tonight’s game are from traveling Cubs fans.” The Game 7 price range was $250 to $23,402 and the median price was $1,823. Nearly 80% of tickets sold are from fans outside of Ohio and there were buyers from 12 different countries on Stub Hub.
