by - Senior Editor -

Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo has been on an offensive surge this season as he has powered the Cubs to a 27-9 record.

Rizzo is batting .273 with 11 homers and 34 RBIs with a .409 on-base percentage and a .606 slugging percentage on the season. He currently leads the N.L. with 33 RBIs, second with 29 runs scored and tied for second with 11 homers.

He has reached safely in a career-high 26 straight games which is the longest active streak in the majors. Twenty-one of his 36 hits this season have gone for extra base hits.

The Westgate Las Vegas Superbook released its latest National League MVP odds, and Rizzo had a 3-1 chance to win the award as Nolan Arenado, and Bryce Harper were favorites with odds at 11-4.
