Report: Cubs to call up minor league outfielder |
The Cubs will call up minor league outfielder Ryan Kalish on Tuesday according to his agent Mark Pieper.
Kalish has batted .245 with four homers, 34 RBIs, and 16 stolen bases in 380 career MLB at-bats between the Red Sox and the Cubs. He was drafted in the 9th round (283rd overall) in the 2006 MLB Draft by the Boston Red Sox. Cubs outfielder Matt Szczur will undergo an MRI on his hamstring on Tuesday. Kalish appears to be his replacement if Szczur is headed to the disabled list. Congrats and welcome back to the bigs @Ryan_Kalish !
