Cubs News: Justin Steele injury update |
The Chicago Cubs have recently provided updates on the injury status of several key players on Friday.
Left-handed pitcher Justin Steele has been diagnosed with a mild strain (muscular) in his left forearm according to the MRI, as confirmed by a team official. Although the injury is concerning, the Cubs have indicated that they will closely monitor Steele's condition in the coming days before making any decisions regarding his next start. “We still feel like it was a good decision to get me out of the game before we went out there and made things worse," Steele said in pregame Saturday. The team plans to have him engage in a light-throwing session on Saturday to see how his forearm feels. Steele has a 2.77 ERA and 1.108 WHIP in 11 starts, and 65 innings pitched this season. Justin Steele has been removed from the game after a 9up / 9down start to the game.
Only thing I could see was perhaps some left arm/shoulder discomfort after a pitch.
