Cubs moves up in latest ESPN MLB Power Rankings

by - Senior Editor -

The Cubs are currently sitting pretty in the National League Central division with a two-game lead over the Brewers with a 28-18 overall record.

ESPN released their latest MLB Power Rankings recently and had the Cubs up one spot to No. 3 overall.

"As hot as Kris Bryant has been of late, he's probably not even the hottest player on the Cubs," ESPN.com said. "That honor goes to starter Kyle Hendricks, who entered his start Sunday on a run reminiscent of his dominant 2016 season. That season, Hendricks started 22 straight games at one point without allowing more than three earned runs. He went 14-5 during that stretch with a 1.56 ERA."

The top 10 teams in the ESPN rankings were the Astros, Dodgers, Cubs, Yankees, Twins, Rays, Brewers, Red Sox, Phillies, and Indians.

The NL Central division is flexing their collective muscle with all members in the top 18 of the rankings: Cubs (3), Brewers (7), Cardinals (11), Pirates (16), and Reds (18).

Fox Sports also thinks highly of the Cubs:
