Chicago Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward is now back with the Cubs working out and taking batting practice on Friday morning. He was on the 10-day disabled list with a sprained finger on his right hand.

No roster move has yet been made but he will more than likely be activated tomorrow as Joe Maddon will have to decide who to send to Triple-A Iowa. Will the demotion go to Tommy La Stella, rookie Ian Happ, or a reliever?

Heyward had a rehab stint with the Single-A South Bend Cubs on Thursday and was 1-for-3 with a RBI single. He told reporters on Friday that he will be ready to play on Saturday if called upon because he had no pain in any of his at-bats last night.

He is currently batting .253 with three homers and 17 RBI in 28 games this season. For his career, Heyward is batting .262 with 107 homers, 418 RBI, and has an on-base percentage of .346.
