Cubs News: Javy Baez injury update |
Chicago Cubs shortstop left Sunday afternoon's game against the Atlanta Braves with a head injury after contact with his eye with second baseman Ozzie Albies' knee when he slid into the base.
Baez looked a little dazed and called for the trainer and left the game. Mike Freeman came into the game to replace Baez. After the game, Baez went to undergo tests at Northwestern Hospital and will hopefully fly to Pittsburgh tomorrow. He is not currently under concussion protocol according to multiple reports. Cubs manager Joe Maddon said that Baez had some blurred vision but the initial evaluation is good. He is currently considered day-to-day with the injury. And Javy Baez leaves the game.
