Report: MLB wants to limit time on replay challenges

by - Senior Editor -

Major League has a problem with the slow pace of games compared to other sports so they have been brainstorming on different ways to speed up the game.

Sources told ESPN on Monday that Major League Baseball wants a 30-second time limit for managers to make the call or not whether they want to challenge an umpire's call. Currently, there is no time limit for managers to make an immediate call as they just jump to the top step of the dugout as they contemplate a challenge.

There is also talk of replays to have a "guideline' to be under two minutes according to ESPN.

Both of these new rules would help push the game a few minutes faster without any slow down of baseball action.
