Tony Crumpton Tony Crumpton - Senior Editor -

There was a fire that caused damage to a concession stand underneath the press box at Wrigley Field according to multiple reports on Thursday.

Chicago Firefighters took out the blaze in the upper deck to the right side of the press box and told NBCChicago.com the following:

“Damage is considerable to the concession stand but not the structure,” spokesman Larry Langford said.

The fire is still under investigation as of Thursday afternoon.

Thankfully this happened when the ballpark was empty, and no fans were hurt by the incident.

The Cubs will return to Wrigley Field on Monday to face off against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
