MLB announced on Monday that Cubs lefty Jon Lester has been named the National League Player of the Week.
In his last two starts, he is 2-0 giving up no runs, 9 hits, 0 walks and striking out 16 in 15 total innings. For the season, he is 8-3 for a 1.89 ERA with 85 strikeouts and a 0.95 WHIP.
