Tony Crumpton Tony Crumpton - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Cubs will be playing in few hours without the services of All-Star catcher Willson Contreras.

Switch-hitting backup catcher Victor Caratini gets the start against the Pirates as Contreras is currently nursing a sore right foot in the arch area according to multiple reports.

The Cubs says its a minor injury and he should be in the lineup in the next game or two. This will be Caratini's second start in the last three games.

For the season, Contreras is batting .286 with 19 homers and 55 RBIs.

Monday night update: Maddon told the following to reporters about Contreras' injury: “I just want to be careful right now.”
