CHICAGO — Chicago Cubs utility man Ian Happ will wear custom-made cleats for MLB Players' Weekend, which will feature the Cubs battling the Washington Nationals in a 3-game series at Wrigley Field on Aug. 23-25. The Cubs released a video on Wednesday showing Happ unboxing his customized cleats.

Famous sneaker influencer and customizer "Kickstradomis" designed the Under Armour cleats for Happ, who saw them for the first time with the cameras rolling. While the kicks feature a nice color scheme of blue and red that matches the Cubs' colors, they are also bright green on the toe areas in order to resemble a putting green. Happ is an avid golfer, and his pair of cleats includes a golf ball on one shoe and a golf-course hole on the other shoe.

Furthermore, Happ's father, Keith Happ, who passed away in 2015, was a USGA agronomist and a scratch golfer, and the initials "KH" can also be found on the cleats. Happ was very pleased with the end result of his cleat brainchild. In addition to showing off Happ's passion for the Cubs and the game of golf, the custom-made cleats pay respect to Happ's dad.
