WATCH: Sal Frelick gifts bat to daring Wrigley Fan after wild moment |
During Thursday afternoon's game at Wrigley Field, something pretty wild happened with one fan.
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick swung and lost his bat, and it flew near the seats and landed in the netting behind home plate, just above the fans. A daring fan named Lou Farinella climbed the netting to get the unique souvenir. His daring climb didn’t go unnoticed — or unpunished — as security escorted him away, much to the dismay of the fans, who loudly booed the decision. Farinella was allowed to return to his seat later that inning, earning a hero’s welcome from the Wrigley faithful with loud cheers. After the game, Frelick tracked down the fan and rewarded him with one of his personal bats with an inscription, "Nice climb!"
