WATCH: Highlights of Cubs' 3-homer performance in win over Brewers

by - Senior Writer -

MILWAUKEE — Avoiding being on the wrong end of a 3-game sweep, the Chicago Cubs (56-49) homered three times in Sunday's series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers (56-51) and won 11-4. The contest at Miller Park saw Cubs left fielder Kyle Schwarber come alive at the plate and hit a grand slam in the second inning and a 3-run home run in the fourth inning.

Victor Caratini also went yard for the Cubs, with his 3-run dinger in the sixth inning providing the Cubs with a commanding 7-run lead. A challenge by Cubs manager Joe Maddon on a play at first base in the final frame resulted in the Cubs scoring their only run of the day via something other than a homer. With the win, Maddon earned his 443rd win at the helm for the North Siders, moving him into sole possession of fifth place for wins tallied by a Cubs skipper.
