Jose enters his 10th year in the Cubs organization since being signed as a non-drafted free agent in April of 2008 ... added to the 40-man roster November 7, 2016 ... has gone 27-33 with a 4.78 ERA (261 ER/491.2 IP) in 160 minor league games, including 64 starts ... Missed the entire 2015 season with a right elbow injury ... returned in 2016 and posted his best season as a pro, going 2-1 with a 2.50 ERA (15 ER/54.0 IP) in 45 games between Single-A Myrtle Beach, Double-A Tennessee and Triple-A Iowa ... Has struck out 425 batters while walking 209 in 491.2 innings of work. © Named a Baseball America Short-Season All-Star in 2011 with Boise ...
