Since May 7th (excluding Monday’s win vs Angels), the Cubs have stranded a total of (brace yourselves) 189 men on base and have gone just 28 for 173 (.162) with runners in scoring position.

Well buddy, you asked for it and you didn't get it. Cubs sign Kimbrel.

I have been saying for a month the biggest issue was not hitting with RISP and it's good you finally agree.

The bigger issue is Maddon sitting Almora now that he has started hitting. He did the same thing last year and Almora never recovered.

Everything you say is so true. I do believe they needed a closer. But as you pointed to the offense has been more than inept with runners in scoring position. Poor Almora, once again sitting on the bench just as he was beginning to prove himself again. It's about time to sit down strikeout Schwarber for a week or the rest of the year as far as I'm concerned and see what Almora can do as an everyday player. Nothing would warm my heart more thsn to see Schwarber go to the American league as a DH, that's his only role in the baseball.
