Great story George! My first Cub game is similar in that my Dad took me and my 3 brothers to a Cub game in the summer of 1958. My Dad was a hugh Cub fan, my brothers were not baseball fans at all. Me I was a sort of a Cub fan but became a hooked die hard fan when my Dad took us that day. Like you said, coming out from under the grandstand and seeing the ivy covered walls and greener than green grass and that Hugh scoreboard and I was completely hooked! My brothers couldn't wait to leave, me I loved everything about that park. I still remember the Cub starters that day. Glen Hobbie-P, Sammy Taylor-C, Dale Long-1B, Tony Taylor-2B, some kid named Ernie Banks-SS, Alvin Dark-3B, Walt Moryn-LF, Bobby Thomson-CF, and Lee Walls-RF. Anyone else care to share their first Wrigley Field experience?
