Commentary: Should Cubs re-sign Addison Russell on cheaper contract?

The one question I continue to ask myself today is, do the Cubs have intentions on bringing Russell back for less money? Full Story »

If that is at all possible, I believe that would be great. He is a major leaguer, should not be thrown away. I always think about the pitcher the Yankees had 20-30 yrs. ago, he had a drug problem, and they gave him about 6 chances to overcome it. Never did. But seems kind of dumb to throw Addy to the wolves!

It's an interesting debate for sure.

I agree, if the price is right he is worth having as a backup. I still think he could work things out. Just think he might be mixed up mentally right now. Theo said Addy has been doing everything asked of him to make amends for his mistakes and I believe everybody deserves a second chance.

I think he has the talent to stick in the majors. It will be interesting to see which team decides to add him to their roster.
