Back on April 2nd, I asked everyone to take a deep breath and wait until the end of April to judge where this years team was going to fall in our hopes and dreams. Full Story »

We are definitely getting better, but the big boys have got to start producing. Bryant is very troublesome, he's not hitting for any power, not just going to the opposite field. Not sure what the problem is but he needs to get going.

Rizzo is Rizzo in April. Schwarber, well I've said this before but I'll say it again he's had 2+ seasons to prove that he can hit with runners on and he just has not come through. When he gets a hit either no one is on base or there are two outs. When he got sent down Epstein summed it up to pretty well when he said "Come back as a hitter not a slugger" apparently Schwarber didn't hear him. I'll take a singles, double hitter anyday rather than an occasional homerun hitter. He's hitting 191,74 at bats 21 strike outs, and 6 walks. Those are not the numbers of an everyday, professional hitter I say trade him for a backup catcher before he has no value.

Bryant hasn't been the same since he got married. If you look at his numbers before he married and after there has been a dramatic downward trend that's scary. I'm just hoping that the same thing doesn't happen to Rizzo and once the calendar turns to May he will start to be the Rizzo we all know.

We can't expect three guys to carry the team for 162 games.

The bullpen has got to stop coming in and immediately walk or hit the 1st batter they face. They should have gotten today's loss not Lester. Unless Lester was on a pitch count (79 pitches) I'm puzzled why Maddon pulled him after five innings. The game is played much differently than what I grew up with. It's all about the money.

Thanks Brusch653 for taking the time to comment and read the story.

Bryant has been hitting to right more this week and you can tell he's getting closer by his taking pitches that two weeks ago he was flailing at. A close friend of mine would agree with you on his marriage, he wonders why anyone would get married to begin with, but a story for another time.

I have never been sold on Schwarber as the guy myself and would have loved to have seen him packaged with Happ to Cleveland for Trevor Bauer and a catcher before the season started.

Keep reading and come back again with your thoughts on this and future stories.

It should be an exciting season as the rotation has stabilized and just waiting for Rizzo and Bryant to take the offense to another level.
