Heyward makes the list because of a speech? Good grief. As for his play on the field, he's certainly on the list for least productivity per dollar paid. Putting him on the list because of his speech (and there is no other reason), just makes the whole idea of listing the best at each position meaningless. I'd been reading it so far; now, what's the point?

It does seem a little silly but I'm not sure who you put on the list at No. 3? What are some good alternatives instead of Heyward.

I can understand some people looking the other way on Sosa's cheating with steroids & corked bats but I can't so he is off my list.
#1 Kiki cuyler. I've noticed that in both LF (Riggs Stephenson) and in this "All Time" RF selection this author doesn't look to far back in Cub History. The Hall-of-Famer played eight seasons with the Cubs, batting .325 with 79 home runs and 602 runs batted in. He led the major leagues in steals three years in a row from 1928 to 1930. During that three-year span, Cuyler also drove in 100 or more runs twice, including a career-best 134 in 1930, and posted batting averages of .360 in 1929 and .355 in 1930. How the heck is he not #1?
#2 The Hawk(Andre Dawson) for the reason the author gives.
#3 Jason Heyward... but just barely over Bill "Swish" Nicholson. A four-time National League All-Star, Nicholson hit 20 or more home runs in five consecutive seasons from 1940-1944. He led the major leagues in runs batted in twice, driving in 128 in 1943 and 122 in 1944. Overall, in his 10 seasons on the North Side, Nicholson hit 205 home runs, drove in 833 runs and batted 272. Also in the running for the third spot for RF Keith Morland.

I became a Cub fan in 1955 at age 5. My Dad would buy "Who's Who in Baseball" every year which listed the lifetime seasonal averages for all of the active ballplayers for that given year. He had these magazines going back to the 30's. He made me love the history of not just the Cubs but of baseball. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen much today. Side note, Baseballs Who's Who magazine which started in 1912 sadly ended in 2016. I always looked for each years additions.

Jason Heyward, absolutely, but I had no idea about Kuyler records. I remember Bill Nicholson, one of my favorites. I had forgotten about Keith Moreland, definitely one of the best.
