Ok, since you keep citing Dark Souls and Fromsoftware matches within this thread, have you actually done any self enforced challenges like this? Dark Souls is a relatively hard sport, but clearing it isn't that difficult and has been done by millions of individuals. Similarly Runescape's'score' are stuff like 100 percent Telos, 0% Araxxor which pretty much everyone can do on Legacy let alone a good completely afk Revo++ pub which based on RS gold Your RS Guy is only 23% dps behind total sweat 4taa full manual with every switch.
What Dark Souls runescape players perform in the very top end in flip side (no struck runs, speedruns) are equally, if not more bothersome, than handling switches and clunky boss mechanics on a tick system. It took Otzdarva above a year to be able to get a no hit run on Dark Souls 2 for example. I imagine in the event that you ever tried a no hit run in Dark Souls you will likely start thinking managing a few switches or the clunky movement and capability system on RS3 is dimensions less bothersome, even though Souls games are supposedly less clunky.
It's possible to make 30m+ hour Telos doing 10 minute kills with minimal switching and a pretty mediocre rotation, and also you do not need any switches beyond a shield for to 1000 percent enrage (and likely far beyond that) which places you in the top 1 percent of runescape players with regard to highest enrage. Obviously bosses other than Telos that do not scale up to intense difficulties can be facerolled over with Revo+.
Is the complexity of high level pvming discouraging? Sure. If the ability ceiling of the runescape game be lowered like you say? Absolutely not. While skilling and comp have concrete achievemnts of an xp amount or a cape on your back, pvming has significantly less explicit achivements of both knowledge and muscle memory that yield various rewards. Like removing gear changing, suggesting things and 4taa is currently nullifying the achievements of best skill for money osrs those who put the effort in to learning them. It would not be fair to suggest that max cape be eliminated simply because you are not maxed. Note is totally fine as is.
