CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs today named Adam Beard as Director of High Performance.

Beard joins the Cubs after spending the last four years in the same role with the Cleveland Browns in which he was the first to serve in this position within the National Football League. In this newly created role, Beard will bring his more than 20 years of industry experience to be responsible for overseeing the integration and management of a collaborative approach to all aspects of training, conditioning, mental skills, nutrition, sport science and beyond.

Beard’s most recent stop prior to the Browns was a stint with the Welsh Rugby Union as Head of Physical Performance from 2009-15.
