FIRST LOOK: Cubs player ratings in MLB The Show 19

For avid sports video game players, MLB The Show is the annual must-have purchase to play during the baseball regular season.

The player ratings for the 2019 edition has been released, and several Cubs are high up on the list.

Willson Catcher is tied for fifth-highest catcher rating with an overall score of 83. Buster Posey is the top catcher in the video game with an 87 rating.

Shockingly for Cardinal fans, Contreras is rated a better overall catcher than Yadier Molina.

At first base, Rizzo is tied for the fourth-highest rated with an overall rating of 85. Paul Goldschmidt is ranked as the No. 1 player at that position in baseball.

Ben Zobrist is ranked tied for the third best second baseman in the game with an overall rating of 85. The Astros' Jose Altuve is ranked the No. 1 player at that position with a ranking of 95.

Kris Bryant is the third best third baseman in the game with a ranking of 92. Nolan Arenado is the top player at the position with an almost perfect 98 rating.

The top shortstop is the game goes to Francisco Lindor with a rating of 90 followed closely by Javier Baez AKA 'EL Mago' at a healthy 89 overall rating.

With regards to the outfield, starting pitchers, and closers, the Cubs were not rated as one of the best in baseball.
