Cubs News: Maddon defends Zobrist after bad call, tossed for 2nd time in 4 days |
The Cubs are not having as much fun on Tuesday since Monday's walk-off grand slam by David Bote.
Cubs manager Joe Maddon was tossed after defending Ben Zobrist on a strikeout call on a backdoor slider. Zobrist who hardly argues didn't like the call and went off on the umpire and threw his bat down in disgust. Maddon came out to defend his player and was tossed by head umpire Phil Cuzzi. This is the second time that Maddon has been ejected in four games as he got tossed on Friday against the Washington Nationals. Overall, it's the third time he has been tossed this season.
