Cubs News: Tommy La Stella sent down to minors

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Cubs announced on Saturday that infielder Tommy La Stella was activated from the bereavement list and was optioned to Triple-A Iowa.

Since the bullpen has been shaky, the Cubs have decided on keeping another reliever in Brian Duensing who was recently activated from the disabled list.

In 2017, La Stella is 1-for4 with a RBI. For his career, he is a .258 hitter with four homers, 54 RBIs, and .337 on-base percentage. He has been in six games total this season but with zero starts so he was logically the man to send down to the minors.

Remember, La Stella refused to play nice and go to the minors last season so hopefully, he will have a better attitude moving forward this year. He will be available for Iowa tonight.
