Report: Cubs claim Rangers LHP off waivers

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Cubs claimed Texas Rangers lefty David Rollins off of Waivers on Friday according to multiple reports.

Rollins has had an incredible last few months because he has moved from the Mariners to Cubs to Rangers to Phillies to Rangers and now back to the Cubs again. All of these waiver moves have happened to him since Nov. 18.

The Cubs 40-man roster is now set at 38.

He was 5-0 with two saves, a 3.77 ERA in 37 relief appearances in 2016 with Triple-A Tacoma. The southpaw last season spent big league time with the Mariners for the second year in a row, going 1-0 with a 7.71 ERA (8 ER/9.1 IP) in 11 relief outings.

He was drafted by the Mariners in the 2014 Rule 5 Draft.
