His 26 home runs surpassed Billy Williams' 25 in 1961, and were the most-ever by a Cub in his first season in the majors (previously held by Mandy Brooks, 14 in 1925). Played 129 games at third base, and recorded a .944 fielding percentage (21 E/372 TC).
