96-year-old former Cubs employee receives World Series ring

Great friends are one of the truly wonderful things in this world.

Case in point: Chicago brothers Tony and Carl Ruzicka decided to do a grand gesture for their 96-year-old friend Yosh Kawano who currently resides in a nursing home as they bought him a 2016 Cubs World Series ring with his name engraved on the side.

"He continues to mean a lot to us," Tony Ruzicka said via the Chicago Tribune. "He lived with Carl his last 10 years in Chicago, and Carl and I took him everywhere. We’ve known him since 1963 when we were ball boys at Wrigley Field."

Kawana retired in 2008 after working nearly 65 years (started in 1943) for the Cubs clubhouse.

“We didn’t do it for any reason,” Tony said. “We just did it because he deserved it.”

This is a great story of someone that truly deserves a memento for all the work that he did at Wrigley Field for so many years.
