Reaching a career-high six RBI on the night, Chicago Cubs infielder David Bote cleared the bases with a double hit into the left-field corner at Wrigley Field in the bottom of the sixth on Wednesday. An inning after giving the Cubs their first lead over the Colorado Rockies via a 3-run homer, Bote tacked three more runs on the board to increase the Cubs' new lead.

The Cubs took a 3-0 lead as a result of Bote's blast in the bottom of the fifth, but the Rockies tied the game in the top of the sixth. With the Cubs going up 5-3 in the bottom of the sixth, Bote dug in at the plate with two outs and the bases loaded and came through with a bases-clearing 2-bagger off Rockies reliever Chris Rusin. Putting the Cubs up 8-3, Bote established a new single-game high for himself with six RBI on the evening.
