
Cubs make several roster moves |
CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs today recalled left-handed pitcher Tom Cosgrove from Triple-A Iowa. In corresponding moves, the Cubs returned right-handed pitcher Gavin Hollowell and optioned left-handed pitcher Luke Little to Triple-A Iowa.
Cosgrove, 29, has allowed one run in 4.0 IP (2.25 ERA) in two relief appearances across two stints with the Cubs this season. He has completed 2.0 innings in each of his major league outings with Chicago. The lefthander has gone 2-1 with a 4.66 ERA (20 ER/38.2 IP) and two saves in 33 games in relief for Iowa. Cosgrove was acquired from San Diego on April 10 for cash considerations. Hollowell, 27, has pitched to a 4.82 ERA (5 ER/9.1 IP) in seven games in relief for the Cubs this season. Little, 24, has pitched in two games with the Cubs this season, both in relief, posting a 3.38 ERA (1 ER/2.2 IP). The Cubs play a doubleheader against the Milwaukee Brewers today at 1:20 p.m. and 7:05 p.m. CT at Wrigley Field.
