Cubs News: Anthony Rizzo injury update |
CHICAGO — Chicago Cubs first baseman
Anthony Rizzo departed Sunday's game at Wrigley Field against the Pittsburgh Pirates after rolling his right ankle. Rizzo was injured in the third inning while charging a bunted ball on the infield grass and had to be helped off the field.
In obvious pain, Rizzo limped to the dugout and was replaced at first base by Ian Happ. The Cubs announced soon afterward that Rizzo had suffered an ankle sprain but had avoided suffering an ankle fracture. X-rays on the ankle came back clean, but Rizzo will undergo an MRI on Monday before an injury timetable is determined. #Cubs worst nightmare.
