The Chicago Cubs got some good news on Tuesday as they signed their third round draft pick Jordan Nwogu to a $678,600 deal.
The contract was for the full assigned slot value of #88 overall selection. Nwogu was excited to join the Cubs as he announced the news of his signing on social media. "Now officially signed with the Chicago Cubs," he posted. "God is great! The journey to Wrigley begins." The Cubs have finished up signing all of their 2020 draft picks with his signing. Nwogu's junior season was cut short because of COVID-19, but he still hit .353 with two homer and four RBIs in 10 games. During his sophomore season at Michigan, he hit .321 with 12 homers, 46 RBIs, 58 runs scored, and 16 stolen bases. As a freshman, he hit .349 with six homers and 21 RBIs.
