Cubs News: Javy Baez injury update |
Cubs standout shortstop
Javy Baez left Friday's game against the Cleveland Indians in the third inning after being hit by a pitch on the inside of his right forearm.
Baez talked a few seconds with Cubs manager David Ross before going into the clubhouse for treatment. Ross spoke to the media Saturday afternoon and updated the status of 'El Mago.' "Javy's fine, which is nice," Ross said. Ross went on to say that the forearm contusion was mostly soft tissue and that the shortstop already went through full workouts today, including batting practice. Great news for the Cubs as Baez is one of the main reasons for optimism in 2021. The Northsiders will face off against the Brewers today at 2:10 p.m. CT (Fox Sports Wisconsin). Javier Báez hit by a Cal Quantrill pitch on Friday afternoon. Was in pain, but didn't seem serious. No reason to keep him in. No official word from Cubs yet. pic.twitter.com/7vjc9Pnizn
