The Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals have intense fanbases as both sides claim that they have the best supportive fans in baseball.

In a recent poll by The Athletic, 240 major league players participated in a survey of several different questions including which team has the best fans in the sport.

St. Louis finished No. 1 overall with 23.2 percent of the vote as Boston was second with 18.8 percent and Chicago at a distant 13 percent at third place.

Another interesting vote in the survey was that Joe Maddon was the second favorite manager to play for besides No. 1 Buck Showalter of the Baltimore Orioles.
