CHICAGO — Inciting a roar from the Wrigley Field faithful, fan favorite
Ben Zobrist went yard for the first time since Aug. 18, 2018, on Saturday. Zobrist, who started at second base in the Cubs' matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates, skied a solo shot in the bottom of the third.
With his first long ball of the season, Zobrist drove a sinker thrown by Pirates starter James Marvel out to right-center field. The high, arcing blast, which put the Cubs up 5-0 in the bottom of the third, carried 369 feet after leaving the bat at 97 miles per hour and 35 degrees.
