CHICAGO — Going yard for the second time on the afternoon, Chicago Cubs catcher
Willson Contreras smashed a solo bomb out to the batter's eye at Wrigley Field on Friday. The third-inning dinger served as Contreras' 23rd long ball of the year.
Sailing 455 feet out to center field, the solo blast off Pittsburgh Pirates starter Steven Brault made the score 6-4 in favor of the Cubs. The gargantuan blast was scorched off the bat at 111 miles per hour and 20 degrees and came after Contreras hit a similar tape-measure home run in the first frame. .@WContreras40 has 915 feet of home run distance through two at-bats.#EverybodyIn pic.twitter.com/HAGGXHY81y Willy on repeat...7th career multi-homer game for @WContreras40 who gives the #Cubs a 6-4 lead w/his 23rd long ball of the season.
