NFL draft analyst hints that Bears might draft top running back Bijan Robinson

by - Senior Editor -

Daniel Jeremiah, an analyst for NFL Network, has suggested that the Chicago Bears could select Texas running back Bijan Robinson with the ninth overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft.

"Somebody told me don't sleep on Bijan Robinson with the Chicago Bears at number 9," Jeremiah tweeted Thursday.

Although Robinson is a talented prospect, many have questioned whether it would be a wise decision for the Bears to use a top-10 pick on a running back, given their numerous roster needs.

The Bears have several holes in their lineup, particularly on the offensive line, where they could use a top tackle to protect their new quarterback Justin Fields. The team could also benefit from bolstering their defense with a player like Jalen Carter, a former Georgia defensive standout.

Only five running backs have been selected in the top 10 since 2015, including Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, Leonard Fournette, Ezekiel Elliott, and Todd Gurley. While Robinson is undoubtedly a talented player, history has shown that teams can find good value at the running back position in later rounds of the draft.

As the draft approaches, it will be fascinating to see which players the Bears ultimately select to bolster their roster. While Robinson is certainly an intriguing option, it remains to be seen whether the team will ultimately decide to use their top pick on him or another talented prospect.
