Cubs to start 2017 season vs. Cardinals on Sunday Night Baseball

The Chicago Cubs will play against their rival St. Louis Cardinals to begin the 2017 season on April 2 at Busch Stadium on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball.

The game was moved from Monday, April 3 to Sunday, April 2 at 7:35 pm for the national broadcast. The Cubs will start the season with six straight road games before playing the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 10.

The Cubs won the World Series for the first time since 1908 this past season while the Cardinals finished second in the National League Central Division with an 86-76 record.

The all-time series is 1,207-1,156 with 19 ties in favor of the Cubs.
